Robert Bruce Swift, Jr, 63, of East Falmouth, passed away on Thursday, May 16, 2013 in his home. Born in Boston he was the son of the late Robert B. Swift and Phyllis (Murrin) Swift of E. Falmouth and Vero Beach, FL In addition to his mother, he leaves his siblings, Kerry James Swift and his wife Kristine of Ware; Judy Swift Fairfull and her husband Richard of Whitinsville; Doreen Swift Morningstar and her husband, Michael of Jacksonville; as well as his niece and nephews, Amanda, Luke and Mitchell Morningstar. Bruce graduated from Framingham High School as the Valedictorian in 1968, and earned a Bachelors degree from Dartmouth College; he also took graduate courses at Harvard University. Bruce was fluent in three languages, traveled extensively in Europe and the United States, while enjoying hiking, cross-country and downhill skiing and camping. He was also an avid windsurfer, played hockey and enjoyed biking, swimming, reading and listening to French and German radio. In addition, Bruce was a member of the American Go Association and Club/Association member of the Falmouth Airpark. In the last 12 years, Bruce enjoyed living on Cape Cod and Vero Beach, FL, while taking care of his mother. There are no calling hours. After cremation, a graveside service will be held at the Edgell Grove Cemetery, Grove St., Framingham, on Thursday, May 23 at 11:30 AM.
