Barry Louis Folse Sr.
October 1932 ~ April 2014
Barry Folse Sr, 81, of Hilmar, passed away at Emanuel Medical Center. Barry was born in Lafayette, Louisiana to Joseph and Susan Folse. He began his schooling in New Orleans and graduated from high school in Covington, LA. Barry joined the Air Force and served as an Air Force Policeman during the Korean War time. In 1955 he was stationed at Castle AFB when he was honorably discharged. That same year he married his life partner, Gertrude "Trudi" Carter. They lived first in New Orleans and moved to California in 1957. Barry was an avid football fan and he loved to drive. They drove often back to Louisiana to visit their family. Barry was a meticulous organizer. Even his yard and garden showed his attention to detail. He was a committed family man and will be dearly missed. Barry was so pleased to have lived 17 years with a transplanted heart. This gave him added years to enjoy his family and friends.
Barry was preceded in death by his parents, six siblings, and a son Christopher. He is survived by his wife of nearly 59 years, Trudi Folse, 3 children: Jeanene (Alex) Amongol of Merced, Barry Folse Jr of Hilmar, and Trudi Elliott of Turlock; 10 grandchildren: Justin (Brandy) Silva, Cory (Kristin) Folse, Amanda Folse, Shelby Elliott, Aaron (Kimberly) Elliott, Kamra Folse, Alex Amongol, Karlee Lauck, Tanner Amongol, and Jasmine Amongol; and 6 great-grandchildren: Payton Folse, Teighton Folse, Brody Folse, Justine Silva, Jaelyn Silva, and Karsyn Britt.
