Caroline Steinbeck
Jul 10, 1923 - Jul 4, 2014
Caroline Steinbeck passed away peacefully on July 4th at 90 years of age following a lengthy illness. She was a Modesto native, the sixth child of Felice and Marianna Bracco who immigrated to Modesto from Italy in the early 1900's.  Caroline graduated from Modesto High School and earned degrees from UCLA in Brentwood, CA and UoP in Stockton, CA. She worked as a speech therapist for the Modesto City Schools and was a past president of the local AAUW and DKG. Caroline was active in her church and her community.
Caroline was married to her husband, Alden, now deceased, for over fifty years. She is survived by her two children Caren Brady of Modesto and Alan Steinbeck of London, England. She was a loving grandmother to five grandchildren. Caroline lived a joyous and rewarding life surrounded by her family and her lifelong friends. She will be remembered with a smile.
Caroline's Celebration of Life service will be held at Heartland Community Church in Ripon, CA on Sunday, August 10th at 3 PM.
In lieu of flowers, the family would appreciate donations to the McHenry Mansion Foundation or to Edward R. Jones on McHenry Ave., with note for "Caroline Steinbeck Scholarship Account" for a scholarship for students at MJC
