DANIEL VEGA JIMENEZ, SR.
JANUARY 9, 1942 - SEPTEMBER 19, 2013
Daniel Vega Jimenez, Sr., 71 of Modesto, passed away September 19, 2013 after a short illness.
He was born January 9, 1942 to Alfred and Savina Jimenez in Riverside, Ca.
He attended Marysville High School and took courses at Modesto Jr. College. Beloved husband and friend of Esther M. Jimenez for 46 years.
He is survived by his two children, Lori Julien (Stacey); Daniel V Jimenez, Jr, both of Modesto. Loving grandfather of Danielle Moullette, Desiree Julien, Damien Julien, Marissa Jimenez, and Miles Jimenez. Loving great grandfather of Madyson Moullette and Marley Pimentel. Beloved twin brother of David Jimenez (Rachel), Alfred Jimenez (Barbara), Valerie Rodriguez (Adolfo). He was a a beloved father, brother, son, uncle, cousin, but most of all a great friend to many. He is survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
Preceded in death by his parents, Alfredo and Savina Jimenez, and brother Liborio Jimenez.
Proud to have served in the Navy USN, a Vietnam Veteran, he served on the USS Coral Sea CVA-43 1962-1966. He was stationed in the Philippines.
Past member of American Legion, Moose Club, active member of St. Joseph's Senior Club, and St. Joseph's Church.He was a Modesto resident for 45 years and retired for the last 9 years.
Viewing & rosary will be held: Wednesday, September 25, 2013 from 4 to 8pm, rosary @ 6:30pm at Salas Brothers Funeral Chapel, 419 Scenic Dr., Modesto.
Memorial Mass, Thursday, September 26, 2013 @ 9:30am at St. Joseph's Catholic Church, 1813 Oakdale Rd., Modesto.
Private burial will be held at the San Joaquin Valley National Cemetery in Santa Nella, CA. at a future date.
