David Lee Valek
May 20, 1948 - June 20, 2013
A long time resident of Ceres, Ca died June 20, 2013 after a short battle with Cancer.
He is survived by his Daughter Connie Edwards and two twins Sons Dana and Kerry Valek. His has six Grandchildren Brandon Valek, Austin Valek, Matthew Toliver, Jimmy Edwards, Kaycie Edwards and Taylor Valek. One Great Grandchild Aiden Rodrigues-Edwards.
He was born in Clayton Missouri to Dewella (Dude) and Joseph Valek on May 20, 1948.
He served his Country in the US ARMY and was an AIRBORN TROOPER (Screaming Eagles, D Company 187th Infantry of the 101st Airborne Division) and fought in the Vietnam War. He concurred Hamburger Hill. In the short time there he received 3 Purple Hearts and 3 Silver Medals, 2 Bronze Stars, the Air Medal, Army Commendation Medal, the Airborne Medal for Gallantry at Hamburger Hill and the Vietnam Medal. He was also picked by his outfit as "SOLDIER OF THE MONTH" on two occasions.
He worked at Gallo Winery for 39 1/2 years when he decided to retire.
During the last several years of retirement he enjoyed the things he loved the most like hunting, camping and telling stories and spending time with family with and friends.
He was loved by many and will be missed by all.
