Donald Joseph Alldrin
May 3, 1927-June 18, 2014
Donald Joseph Alldrin, age 87, a resident of Lake Don Pedro, passed away on June 18, 2014.  Donald "Don" was born May 3, 1927, in Turlock to Joseph and Ethel Alldrin.  He moved to Ripon when he was 6 years old.  In 1945, he joined the Navy just as World War II was ending.  After his discharge, he married his high school sweetheart, Genevieve Alldrin of Ripon in 1947.  He worked in his father's land leveling business until being recalled to active duty to serve in the Korean War.  After this, Don worked in sales and owned a television store.   Next, he began a series of construction projects.  The last was a home he built in the Lake Don Pedro area that was erected from the ground up with very little help while he was in his 70s.
He is survived by his loving wife of 67 years, Genevieve "Gen" Alldrin of Lake Don Pedro, two sons Melford (Joyce) Alldrin of Avery, CA and Gordon (Connie) Alldrin of Turlock, sister Geraldine Anderson of Ripon, CA, brother Chuck (Peggy) Alldrin of Chico, CA, five grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren.  He is preceded in death by three siblings, Eleanor Ahlgren, Stanley Alldrin, and Doris Turnquist.
A graveside service will be held at 10 am on Saturday, June 28, 2014 at Lakewood Memorial Park with a Celebration of Life service to follow at 12:30 pm at Lake Don Pedro Baptist Church with a lunch reception to follow.
