Donley "Leon" Powell

Age 70. Leon is survived by his wife of 45 years, Karen Kaye; sons Billy Leon of Modesto and Donley Brian of Blue Lake; mother, Mattie Lambert of Modesto; sister, Kelly Lambert of Danville; five grandchildren and other family members. Preceded by his father, Donley E. Powell.
Leon served in the Marine Corp from 1962 to 1966. He was a Vietnam veteran. Married to Kaye July 27, 1968 in Okla. City, OK. He worked as a property insurance adjuster and carpenter. He was a resident of Modesto for 28 years. A member of Bethel Church, serving many years on the board of deacons.
Viewing will be held at Salas Brothers Funeral Chapel, 419 Scenic Drive, Modesto on Monday, Feb. 10 from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. Funeral service will be held at Bethel Church, 2361 Scenic Dr., Modesto on Tuesday, Feb. 11 at 10:00 a.m. Graveside service will be at the San Joaquin Valley National Cemetery in  Santa Nella, CA at 1:30 p.m.
