Ethel M. Henneberg
NOV 22, 1927-OCT 17, 2013
Ethel Mae Henneberg,  85, of Modesto CA passed away on Thursday morning, October 17, 2013, at the Alexander Cohen Hospice House, Hughson, California.  She has gone home to be with our Lord and Savior.
A Celebration of Life Service will be held on Friday, October 25th, 2013, 2:00P.M., Franklin & Downs McHenry Chapel, 1050 McHenry Ave, Modesto California.  Please join us in this celebration!
Ethel Henneberg was the 4th child born to Hattie and Gilman Winden, in Northwood, North Dakota. Ethel's twin sister, Edith was the 5th of 10 children.  She attended school in Alexander, North Dakota, graduating from Alexander High School in 1945.  The following fall Ethel attended Minot State Teachers College.  She taught school for 1 & 1/2 years.
Ethel married Verne Fredrickson and they had three children, David, Jan and Jim.  They were divorced.  Ethel married Clarence (Bud) Henneberg , and he passed away 8 years after they were married.  Ethel has been a single woman since she was 52 years old.  Ethel loved family gatherings with her children, who all reside in the Modesto/Salida area.  She loved going on her train trips back to North Dakota to visit her family!  The most important things in life were worshiping the Lord and loving her family.  She loved to bake and make us delicious dinners.  On the holidays we always looked forward to her yummy pies!  Her specialties were pumpkin and lemon meringue!  She made the best lemon meringue pies on earth! She loved to go on road trips and see the sites!  How she loved to go with Jan up to Eureka to see her granddaughter, Alisha and her family.  She loved the beautiful scenery along the way.
Ethel was a caretaker, for 6 years , for her parents until they passed away.  She also helped care for her twin sister, Edith, until she passed away.  She lived God's will for her life by being a caretaker to so many people.  She was a blessing to all who knew her.  She had a generous heart and a loving spirit.  Always giving of herself. She volunteered at Scenic General (County Hospital) for several years working in the gift shop and Information.  She had such a soft spot for the needy.
Ethel was preceded in death by her parents Hattie and Gilman Winden, husband (Clarence Henneberg), brother's John, Arthur and Lloyd Winden; her twin sister Edith Fjelstad, niece Joyce Kaiser and nephew Brian Winden.
Ethel is survived by her three children, Dave (Debbie) Fredrickson of Salida, Jan Wilburn (Steve) of Modesto and Jim Fredrickson of Modesto.  She leaves behind 8 grandchildren,  David, Alisha, Jonathan, (twins) Eric and Nicole, Dennis , Eric and Steven;  3 great-grandchildren,  Wyatt, Hunter and Tylyr;  sister Helen Kush of Seattle, brother's Roy (Vivian), Williston, N. Dakota, Harold (Bernie)   Montana, David (Trin), Arizona, Richard (Pat) Winden, of Bismark, N. Dakota, her brother in-law, Aveard Fjelstad, and sister-in-law, Donna Winden;  34 nieces and nephews.
The Family suggests that remembrances may be made to Modesto Gospel Mission, P.O. Box 1203, Modesto, CA 95353 or Community Hospice, 4368 Spyres Way, Modesto, CA  95356.
