Jerry was born March 24, 1934 in Roswell, New Mexico to John C. and Lucille Shaver Bryant.  The family moved to California in 1935, finally settling in Modesto, CA in the summer of 1947.  Jerry attended Modesto High School from 1948 to 1952 when he joined the U.S. Navy to serve his country during the Korean conflict.
Jerry was a handsome man with a winsome smile, quick wit, and many talents.  He was very creative and worked in several media including wood, wood block, mosaic, pencil, charcoal, and oil.  He also was creative at landscaping and auto detailing.  Through the years Jerry touched many lives in many ways, and was liked and loved by many.
Professionally, he was widely known for his work in agriculture and was owner of a Modesto tree nursery.  He also worked for many years in the hospitality industry, as well as the security industry in the Central Valley and SF bay area of California.
Jerry loved the outdoors, especially the Sierra Mountains, living in the Coarsegold and Mariposa, CA areas for a time.  He retired to Ceres, CA in the 1980's.
Jerry passed away at the age of 79 on December 12, 2013 as a result of an automobile accident in Modesto, CA.  He is survived by his wife Ruth Fellows Bryant, children Marlyn Laray Sexton and Jerry John Bryant, sister Wilma Wright and brother Royce Bryant.
