John Edward Corrin Jr.

John was born in Seattle, Washington to John Corrin, Sr. and Terese McGrath. At a young age his family moved to Millbrae, CA and then Modesto when he was 14. He graduated from Downey High School Class of 1966. After High School he attended Modesto Jr. College and Arizona City College. John served in the U.S Army during the Vietnam War from 1968-1969, and was decorated with the Bronze Star and was honorably discharged. Upon leaving the Army John worked as a bar manager at several local establishments, was an Agent for Prudential Insurance and did sales and finance management for Roberts Auto Sales prior to his retirement. In 1982, John and his first wife had a daughter, Venessa Nicole Corrin. In October, 1989 John married DeLois (De) Zamora and they happily blended their families together. John and De raised their children and assisted in raising their Grandson, Dustin Corrin-Willey, and a Niece and a Nephew. John thoroughly enjoyed cheering at his Grandson Dustin's football games with the Central Saints and Central Catholic High School, where he was also a parent volunteer. John was an avid SF 49ers and SF Giants fan, as were his parents. He treasured Golf especially when he was the one playing/winning. One of his favorite times was when he was golfing with his son, Ben, and Longtime friends Doug and Lee. There was nothing John enjoyed more than barbequing and sharing time with family and friends. He adored all of his grandchildren, nieces and nephews. John was an active member of Eucharistic Minister at Our Lady of Fatima Catholic Church. He is survived by his wife, DeLois (De). Children, Venessa Corrin (Fernando), Deborah Willey, Marshall Ingleston, Benjamin Zamora. Grandchildren Dustin Corrin-Willey, Cadence and Anthony Escobar and Brayden Corrin-Escobar. Sister Michelle Schilber (Mickey) and sons Michael and Gregory, Nephew Jason Moore (Stephanie) and their 2 children, Michelle Casy (Jerry) and their 4 children. He was predeceased by his parents John and Tess. A rosary will be held Sunday at 3:00 P.M. in the Franklin & Downs McHenry Chapel, 1050 McHenry Avenue, Modesto. The funeral will be held on Monday at 10:00 A.M. in Our Lady of Fatima Catholic Church, 500 W. Granger Avenue, Modesto, with a reception to follow.
