Kenneth T. Bennett
Jul 16, 1937 - Jul 5, 2014
Kenneth T. Bennett, 76 of Patterson passed away Saturday, July 5th at Memorial Medical Center in Modesto.
Mr. Bennett was native of Louisville, Kentucky and was a resident of Patterson for 19 years. Kenneth moved to Patterson in June, 1995, from Arizona, while married to his wife Ruby N. Bennett, who passed away October 12, 2002. He was a truck driver for Pepsi Co. for 12 years and served 20 years in the United States Navy. He retired as a Chief Petty Officer in 1975 and served on over 10 Naval Ships. He realized the importance of showing respect for our Fallen Military Personnel on Memorial Day and Veterans Day. Each year Kenneth would go to the Patterson Cemetery and help place the Memorial Flags. Kenneth was proud of the United States Flag and taught the Scouts of Troop 81 how to present the colors. The Color Guard often performed in local events and at the Santa Nella National Cemetery. He had a special heart for the Seniors of Patterson and was very active and instrumental in helping to plan for the New Senior Center. He attended the monthly board meetings and would go to other centers to see what they were offering their seniors. You would always find him calling Bingo in his own special ways on Fridays. Kenneth always had a smile and joke to keep all the seniors happy and Kenneth would go to the local Save Mart each month to pick up a Birthday Cake for all Seniors Celebrating their Birthday that current month. On occasion he would plan short trips to Black Oak Casino and for holidays Kenneth would always order flowers and decorations for the celebration. Kenneth was a member of the Fleet Reserve Association, Veterans of Foreign Wars, Disabled America Veterans Association, the retired Enlisted Association and the American Legion and served as Commander of Post 168 Patterson, CA from 2001-2002.
Mr. Bennett is survived by his wife, Mary E. Bennett of Patterson; Blended family, son Troy and his wife Cathy Scott in San Jose California.  Ellen Bynum and her husband Shannon Bynum and their children; Brian, Brayden and Katelynn Bynum in Ripon California.
