Layton Miles Obituary

Layton Lloyd Miles
Dec. 10, 1930 - Nov. 28, 2013
Heaven has received another Angel! Layton Lloyd Miles went to be with The Lord on Thanksgiving Day, November 28th, 2013. Layton loved The Lord, his family and his country! He treasured and appreciated those close friends who touched his life and he considered them family! He was a loving father to Jeffrey Miles of Manteca, CA, Gordon Miles of Oakdale, CA, Laura Barnett of Redding, CA and David Miles of Denver, CO. He was also a wonderful Grandfather (Grampa Layton) to Danielle, Tanya, Vienna, Gracie, Brett, Ava and Bella. He was the loving husband of Ruth Jane Miles for 35 years. Layton was born in Chicago, IL on December 10, 1930, and was the adored son of Leslie and Myrtle Miles, brother to Mary, and a nephew, uncle and cousin to many folks throughout Wisconsin, Illinois and California. Layton led a faithful and virtuous life and touched so many with his kindness, generosity and good humor. He was proud to have served in the United States Navy and was a dedicated employee with IBM for over 25 years. Layton was exceptionally talented as a woodcrafter, machinist, and all-around handyman. He was a proud patriot of this great country and was a passionately involved citizen of every community in which he lived.  He lived in Chicago, Wisconsin, Vermont and San Jose, CA before calling Oakdale, CA his home for nearly 25 years. Layton will be dearly missed, but he is now peaceful and at rest in the best Home of all!
