Linza Cox
May 19, 1923 - July 8, 2014
Linza Wayne Cox entered into his heavenly rest on July 8, 2014. He was born May 19, 1923 in Ashton, Kansas to H.O. and Della Merle Cox.  He was one of seven siblings growing up in rural Kansas.  As World War II intensified, Linza enlisted in the Navy in 1943. While serving in the Navy, Linza met Gloria Jean Kaady, and they were married on February 26, 1946. Linza and Gloria raised three children and lived in the same house for over fifty years. In 2002 they moved to Ripon.  Linza enjoyed camping, fishing, and gardening. Linza loved his family deeply and was always available when they needed him. He will be lovingly remembered for his many stories.
Linza is survived by Gloria, his wife of 68 years; children Linda Beck (Tom) of Ripon, James Cox (Margie) of Oakdale, and Ron Cox (Eileen) of Ripon;  12 grandchildren: Tim Beck, Katrina Cardinale, Trisha Beck-Fascilla, Jon Beck, Sarah Jasper, Lonnie Cox, Daniel Cox, Matthew Cox, Joseph Cox, Jeffrey Cox, Tawny Jones and Trevor Cox; 18 great-grandchildren; sisters Vivian Reschke of Enterprise, Kansas, Ruelena McGlasson, of Wakeeny, Kansas, and brother Dean Cox of Haysville, Kansas.
A graveside service is scheduled for 10:00 a.m. on Monday, June 14, 2014 at Ripon Cemetery, 320 N. Stockton Avenue, Ripon. Following the service, Linza's family invites friends to lunch at the Ripon Fire District Station One, 142 S. Stockton Avenue, Ripon.
