Robert E. Bibens
June 15, 1928 - June 22, 2014
Robert Bibens entered into rest on Sunday, June 22, 2014 at the age of 86. Robert was born on June 15, 1928 to proud parents Smith and Margaret Bibens. He was a native of Modesto, CA.
 Robert was preceded in death by his loving wife, DeLores Bibens,  their son Lyle Robert Bibens and  his brother Maynard Bibens (Naomi).He is survived by his sister, Miriam Jorgensen (Frank), his former wife, Joan Bibens; his children Cheryl Kramer (Dennis), Daryl Bibens (Raquel) and step children Rick Raef and Julie Baker (Dave); his grandchildren Christopher Chandler (Michelle), Christy Frantz (Jim), Corey Warter, Pamela Bibens, Lyle Bibens, step grandchild Tyler Roberts and two great-grandchildren.
During his life Robert was very involved in his community he was an active Rotarian and was very proud of his contributions to the Virginia Trail, former President of the Jr. Chamber of Commerce, and member of the California Nursery Men Association for 50 years.  He was a Sunday school and vacation bible school teacher, active in the Heifer project and was a host for a foreign exchange student from Holland. During his life he owned and operated Bibens Nursery Co. for over 50 years. He loved to be with his family, garden, travel and be in the mountains in the cabins he owned in Groveland. Robert proudly served in our armed services (Army) and was a veteran of the Korean War.
Franklin and Downs Funeral Home is honored to be serving the Bibens Family. A chapel service is scheduled for Saturday, July 5, 2014 at 10:00 A.M. at Franklin and Downs Funeral Home, 1050 McHenry Avenue, Modesto, CA 95350.
