Walter Alfred Myers passed away on February 21, at the age of 83.  Walter was born on March 12, 1930 to Walter and Kathryn Myers in Modesto, CA and has been a resident of the Modesto area his entire life. 
Walter served in the Army during the Korean War in charge of food supply for two years.  After being honorably discharged, Walter owned and operated J.S Williams Men's Clothing in Modesto for twenty years.  After he retired, Walter managed the Del Rio East Homeowners Association in Modesto.  Walter was a member of the North Modesto Church of God, the Masonic Lodge of Modesto, and the Modesto Lyons Club.  Walter was also a proud member of the American Legion Post 74. 
Walter leaves behind his wife, Barbara Myers, his children: Debora Loeb (David) of Las Vegas, NV, Renee Turula (Edwin) of Oregon, Kevin Myers (Maria) of Modesto, his grandchildren: Ryan Owen, Timothy Owen,  and Joshua Owen, his two great grandchildren along with his  nephew, Clifford Petersen of Turlock and also his brother in law, Melford Medlin of Modesto.
Arrangements have been entrusted to Franklin & Downs Funeral Home.  A graveside service is scheduled for Monday, March 3, 2014 at 11:00 AM at Acacia Memorial Park in Modesto.
