William (Bill) Bloomingcamp

William "Bill" Bloomingcamp, 88, of Oakdale, CA. died Thurs, Aug 7, 2014 at the Alexander Cohen Hospice House with the family following a long illness.
A Celebration of Life service will be held at the Oakdale Community Christian Reform Church at 9:30 am, Friday, Aug 15 on West F St., Oakdale. Burial at Burwood Cemetery on River Rd., Oakdale at 2:00 pm.
Bill was born in Modesto, Ca. He served in the U.S. Navy, WWII in the Pacific. He attended Modesto Junior College earning his A.A. degree. After graduation, he partnered with his father, William, on the Oakdale Ranch raising turkeys. Bill also raised cattle, hogs and sheep. Later, he transitioned the ranch to trees of almonds, apples and walnuts. Bill built all the buildings on the ranch with only hand tools. He built the pond and park with his wife, Joy. The Bloomingcamp Bake Shop and Cider Works came next.
Bill was a devoted and much loved Father, Grandfather, Great Grandfather and valued Friend. He is survived by his wife, Joy; daughter Coni Bloomingcamp-Steinberg and son-in-law Mat Steinberg and Kathy Abell; Sons, Cary and Chris Ward. Grandchildren: Jennifer (Ward) Kindorf, Lynae (Ward) Zapien and husband Homero, Nicole (Ward) Campbell and husband Cpl. James Campbell (US Marines), Cpl. C.J Ward (US Marines), Mila Steinberg and William Steinberg. Great-grand children: Kyla Kindorf, Gavin Sarabia, Ryland Kindorf, and Isabelle Joy Campbell.
Favored charities are Alex Cohen Hospice House, Hughson, CA. and the Oakdale Senior Citizen Center, Oakdale.
