SACRAMENTO - Richard James Fenstemacher, born October 25, 1946, returned home to the Lord on November 6, 2012. Born in Binghamton, New York to Roland and Elaine Fenstemacher. Rick grew up in the Monterey area, until meeting his wife, Susan, and relocating to Sacramento. He was a muscle car and hot rod enthusiast, avid photographer and enjoyed watching auto and boat drag races. He loved spending time with friends and family. He proudly served in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War, where he was awarded a Bronze Star.

Rick is survived by his wife, Susan Fenstemacher; brother, Jim Silva of Boulder, CO; cousin, Grace Fenstemacher Verduzco of Santa Maria, CA; cousin, Ron Fenstemacher of Oahu, HI; and five step-children: Becky Kimzey of Santa Barbara, CA; Marsha and husband, Steven Sieber of Aurora, CO; Adam Smith, Serena Sanchez, and Shane Caldeira, all of Sacramento, CA; and his loyal canine companion, Lucy.

Services will be held at Sacramento Valley National Cemetery with full military honors. The date is to be determined. Online condolences may be made at facebook.com/rick.fenstemacher.

Rick will be remembered as a loving man with a kind heart and a great sense of humor. Rick will be forever missed but always remembered.
