Franklin Hood Obituary
Hood, Franklin L. Sr., was born July 23, 1932 in Birmingham, AL to the late John Henry and Australia Hood. He confessed Christ at an early age. He later joined the United States Army, where he served at Fort Knox Kentucky and Ft. Leonard Wood, Missouri. He departed this life Monday, August 19, 2013 in Montgomery, AL. A Memorial service will be held on Sunday, August 25, 2013 at 1:00 p.m. from Massey Memorial Funeral Home Chapel with Minister Debra Tucker officiating. Massey Memorial Funeral Home Directing. He leaves to cherish his memories a devoted and caring fiancée, Ms. Mary Hall; his daughter, Mrs. Brenda Lawrence (Curley) of Birmingham, AL; three sons, Jimmy Hood, and Melvin Hood (Sheila) of Louisville, KY, Shon Hood (Tonya) of Atlanta, GA; his sister, Mrs. Ruby Harris of Birmingham, AL; two brothers, Willie Hood of Long Beach, CA and Robert Hood of Las Vegas, Nevada; eight grandchildren, five great-granchildren, numerous nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends. Mr. Hood was also fortunate to have a special best friend, Mr. James Harrell of Montgomery, AL and a loving and devoted niece, Patricia Kornegay (Tim) of Montgomery, AL.
