Albert K. Wohlert, 89, of Edison died on Wednesday, August 27, 2014 at home.

Born in Newark, he has resided in Edison for 65 years. Albert was a US Navy Veteran of World War II, serving in the Pacific Theater. He received the Distinguished Flying Cross and the Gold Star, from the US Navy. He was employed by Ford Motor Co. for 42 years before his retirement. Albert was a member of The First Presbyterian Church of Metuchen, as well as the VFW Post 2636 in Iselin.

He was predeceased by his wife,Billie Jean of 51 years and a daughter Carolyn Hobbs. He was also predeceased by two brothers Henry and John; and two sisters Betty and Dorothy.

Surviving are a son Albert; three daughters Barbara Gartside, Patricia Smorzewski and Jeanne Selby; twelve grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. He is also survived by many loving nieces, nephews, and extended family.

Services will take place on Saturday, August 30, 2014 at 10:00 AM at the First Presbyterian Church of Metuchen 270 Woodbridge Ave. Metuchen interment is at Cloverleaf Memorial Park in Woodbridge.
