Charles L. Palermo

AGE: 87 • Iselin

Charles L. Palermo, 87, of Iselin died on Saturday, February 23, 2013 at JFK Medical Center in Edison. Born in Pittston, PA, he resided in Iselin since 1951.

He was a US Navy Veteran of World War II and a member of The American Legion T. Nulty Post 471 in Iselin. He was a communicant of St. Cecelia's RC Church in Iselin. Charles was employed by Anheuser-Busch in Newark for 40 years. He was a member of The Woodbridge Township Auxiliary Police Department retiring as Deputy Chief. Charles was a Woodbridge Township Constable and a member of the Township's Office of Emergency Management. He was also a coach with the Iselin Athletic Association. He was predeceased by his wife Grace (nee Bussacco) in 1996 and his son Charles D. in 2000. He was also predeceased by a brother Sam and a sister Josephine. Surviving are his daughter Christine of Woodbridge; granddaughter Tara, great-grandson Jason and daughter-in-law Donna all of Iselin. Services will take place on Thursday, February 28, 2013 at 9:30 AM from the Costello-Runyon Funeral Home 1225 Green St. (corner of Cooper Ave. ) Iselin, followed by a 10AM Mass of Resurrection at St. Cecelia's RC Church, interment will follow at St. Gertrude Cemetery in Colonia. Visitation is Tuesday 7-9 and Wednesday 2-4 & 7-9. Please make memorial contributions to the (donations.Diabetes.org)
