AGE: 83 • Fords

David "Bud" O'Donnell 83 of Fords, entered into eternal rest, Wednesday, June 12, 2013, at J F K Medical Center in Edison. He was born in Perth Amboy and has resided in Fords for the past 47 years.

David was a letter carrier with the US Postal Service in Perth Amboy and Fords for 30 years before retiring in 1990. He served his country in the Army during the Korean War reaching the rank of Corporal. He received the National Defense Service Medal and Good Conduct Medal, serving in Greenland for 6 months before being discharged in 1954.

After service he became a member of the Clara Barton American Legion Post 324 in Edison for 32 years.

David graduated Perth Amboy High School in 1948. He was a manager and member of Perth Amboy's fast pitch softball team, "The Meade Street Aces", sponsored by Braun's Café during the '60's and '70's. and was an avid Yankees and Giants fan.

David was predeceased by his parents William and Annette O'Donnell, and siblings Roberta Cook and Charles O'Donnell. He is survived by his wife Joan Freeman O'Donnell, his children Cynthia Rose of Lambertville, David O' Donnell and his wife Lourdes of Sayreville, Kyle O'Donnell of Brick, and Kelly Ware and her husband Robert of Iselin, grandchildren Erin Clarke and her husband Brian, Mia Feliciano and her husband Jesus, Katie Moraski and her husband Matthew, Rebecca, David, and Kristina, great grandchildren McKenzie, Jayden, and Alexa, sister Jeanne Honan and her husband John of Perth Amboy, brother-in-law Donald Freeman and his wife Carol of Manahawkin and many nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held on Tuesday June 18, 2013 at 10 am at the Flynn and Son Funeral Home 23 Ford Avenue Fords, followed by a 10:30 am funeral liturgy at St. Mary's R.C. Church, Perth Amboy. Interment will be in Alpine Cemetery. Visitation is Monday, June 17, 2013 from 4-8 pm. In lieu of flowers contributions are requested to the .
