Edward A. Cieckiewicz

AGE: 82 • Edison

Edward A. Cieckiewicz, 82 of Naperville IL, formerly of Edison died on Thursday, April 17, 2014 at Alden Estates at Naperville.

Born in Jersey City, he had resided in Edison for forty eight years, before moving to Naperville in 2013. Edward was a US Army Veteran of the Korean War. He was an engineer with Lucent Technologies for 35 years, before retiring in 1990. He was a communicant of St. Helena's RC Church in Edison and a member of Knights of Columbus Council #3969 in Iselin, NJ.

His wife Cecilia Klimek Cieckiewicz died in 2012.

He is survived by his son Steven and his wife Cynthia, and two grandchildren Sloane and Grant of Naperville, IL.

Edward enjoyed gardening and travel, and was an avid stamp collector. He was a member of the Westfield Stamp Club as well as the Polonus Philatelic Society, and won numerous awards for his collections over the years. In his later years, he and his wife Cecilia, attended many Elderhostel events at the University of Notre Dame and in Sante Fe, New Mexico and Seattle, Washington. He was also an active member of the Edison Seniors group.

Services will take place on Friday, April 25, 2014 at 8:45 AM from the Costello-Runyon Funeral Home 568 Middlesex Ave. (RT 27) Metuchen, followed by a 9:30 AM Mass of The Resurrection at St. Helena's RC Church; interment is at Holy Cross Cemetery in North Arlington. Visitation is Thursday 2-4 & 7-9 PM.
