Ernest Paolino, 87, passed away peacefully at Willow Creek Nursing & Rehab Center in Somerset on Sunday, October 20, 2013. He was born and raised in Philadelphia, PA and has lived in New Brunswick for over 48 years. Ernest was a graduate of Rutgers University and received his doctorate degree in history from Cornell University. His discertation was published in 1973 by the Cornell University Press on "The Foundation of the American Empire-William Henry Stewart and US Foreign Policy". Ernest taught at New York University for six years and at Rutgers university for 14 years. He enjoyed reading and acquired over 12,000 history, novel and miscellaneous book in his lifetime.
Ernest was predeceased by his parents Florindo and Genarosa Paolino, his sister Norma Paolino Brewster in 2012 and is survived by his beloved wife Sophie (Friedman) Paolino, his dear brother and sister-in-law Louis Eugene Paolino and Dolores, his cherished nieces and nephews Marcella Wood, Stephanie Jacobo, Linda Paolino, Valerie Barretta, Eugene Paolino and Louis Paolino, Jr.
Visitation will take place on Wednesday, October 23, 2013 from 10am to 12pm at the Crabiel Parkwest Funeral Chapel, 239 Livingston Avenue, New Brunswick, NJ. Funeral Service will follow at the funeral home. Cremation will be private.
