Henry F. Bornkamp, 88, of Monroe Twp. died Tuesday, July 23, 2013 at CareOne at East Brunswick. Born in New York City, Mr. Bornkamp lived in Queens Village, NY before moving to the Rossmoor community in Monroe Twp. in 1985. He was employed as manager of procurement at Princeton University for 12 years, retiring in 1990. Previously, Mr. Bornkamp was employed at CBS Laboratories, Stanford, CT. He was an Army veteran of World War II, serving in the European theater and attaining the rank of Corporal. He was a past treasurer of St. James Knights of Columbus Council #6336, Monroe Twp., a member of the Immaculate Conception 4th Degree Assembly, Spotswood, the Rossmoor Kiwanis Club and the Rossmoor Men's Golf Club.
He is predeceased by his wife, Margaret in 2011 and his two brothers, William and Joseph. Surviving are his two sons, Gerard of New York City and Thomas of East Brunswick; his sister, Caroline Janssen of Farmingdale, NY and his grandchildren, Nicole and Kevin.
Services will begin at 8:45 a.m. Saturday, July 27th at the Lester Memorial Home, 16 W. Church St., Jamesburg followed by a 9:30 a.m. funeral liturgy at Nativity of Our Lord RC Church, Monroe Twp. Burial will be in Holy Cross Burial Park, East Brunswick. Visiting hours for family and friends will be Friday 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. and Saturday 7:45-8:45 a.m. at the funeral home.
