AGE: 90 • South Amboy

Herbert L. Dibling, 90, of South Amboy died Wednesday March 5, 2014 at JFK Medical Center, Edison. Born in Newark, NJ, he lived in South Amboy for the past 66 years.

He worked as an inspector supervisor for Ford Motor Co., Edison for 37 years. Herb was a graduate of St. Mary's High School, South Amboy. He attended the University of Florida. Herbert was a parishioner of Sacred Heart Church South Amboy and a member of Sacred Heart's Holy Name Society. Herbert served his country with the Army Air Corp during World War II. He was a member of UAW Local 980 Edison.

Herbert enjoyed fishing and was as avid photographer sure to be seen at any event with his camera hanging around his neck. His artistic eye and ability was also evident in his many stained glass creations that he proudly displayed and gladly presented as gifts. He loved traveling with his family, particularly to his favorite vacation spot at Acadia Nat. Park, Bar Harbor, Maine.

He was predeceased by his parents, Carl and Augustine Lorentz Dibling; and his brothers Leo and Jerry Dibling. Surviving is his devoted wife of 66 years Mary Jane Baczenski Dibling; his brother and sister-in-law, Carl and Doris Dibling of Bogart, Ga. A loving and cherished father, grandfather and great-grandfather, he will be remembered by his daughter and son-in-law, Denise and Paul G. Kusic of North Brunswick; son, Lawrence H. of South Amboy; son and daughter-in-law, Dr. John B. and Janice Dibling of Manalapan; 5 grandchildren; Kristen and her husband Leo Posner, Jessica and her husband Christopher Posner; Paul B. Kusic; Jonathan and Jade Dibling. 5 great grandchildren; Baylen and Olivia Posner, and Mason, Landon and Evelynn Posner.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend the funeral services on Monday March 10, 2014 at 9:00 AM from the Kurzawa Funeral Home, 338 Main St. South Amboy. A Mass will be offered at 10:00 AM at Sacred Heart Church in South Amboy. Burial will follow Sacred Heart Cemetery, Sayreville. Visitation will be on Sunday from 3-7 PM.
