AGE: 81 • Old Bridge

Michael A. Colón, died Thursday, July 10, 2014 peacefully at home with his family. He was 81. Born in Brooklyn, NY, he resided in Old Bridge for the past 50 years. Prior to his retirement 16 years ago, he was a driver for the NJ Commission for the Blind for 15 years. An Air Force veteran of the Korean War, he was a member of the Old Bridge VFW Post 9468, and the American Legion Post 177, as well as an avid softball player.

He was predeceased by two daughters, Norma Kiniry in 2005 and Diana Colón in 2006. Surviving are his wife of 56 years, Louisa Vega Colón; a daughter, Nikki Colón of Old Bridge; a brother, Daniel and his wife Sarah Colón of Pennsylvania; nine grandchildren and four great grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held on Monday at 10:00 AM in the Rezem Funeral Home, 457 Cranbury Road, East Brunswick. Interment with military honors will follow at Holy Cross Burial Park, South Brunswick. Relatives and friends may call at the funeral home on Sunday 2-4 & 7-9 PM.
