Olympia "Libby" McKnight, 96, passed away on Tuesday, October 15th, 2013 at the Mary Anne Hale Pavilion of Haven Hospice at JFK Medical Center in Edison. The family would like to thank all of the attending staff members at JFK Medical Center, JFK Hartwyck at Edison Estates, and Mary Anne Pavilion of Haven Hospice for their dedicated care to Libby during life's final journey.
Libby was born and raised in New Brunswick, NJ. During the war years, she worked for Johnson and Johnson. In 1950 she relocated to Edison as a homemaker. She was a parishioner of The First Presbyterian Church of New Brunswick, where she served as a "circle" leader for many years and taught Sunday school.
She is predeceased by her husband, James Sr., in 1991, her sister, Patricia Tucker, in 2013, and her three brothers: Vincent, Frank, and James Clementi.
She is survived by her son, James and his wife Nancy of Edison, her daughter, Carol and her husband Alan Horn of Succasunna, her granddaughter, Christine Hernandez of San Antonio (University of Texas), her sisters: Julia Kesinger of Little Egg Harbor, Eda Whitehill of Somerset, and numerous nieces and nephews. Libby is extremely proud of her granddaughter obtaining her Master's Degree.
Friends and relatives are invited to attend the funeral on Friday, October 18th, at 10:30 am from the Gleason Funeral Home 1360 Hamilton St. Somerset, NJ 08873, with interment to follow at Franklin Memorial Park.
