Ralph Farella Sr., died Friday, Sept. 27, 2013, at Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital in New Brunswick. He was 84. Born in New York City he had lived in North Brunswick for most of his life. He had worked as a Code Enforcement Officer for the Township of North Brunswick for over 20 years. Prior to that, he was a builder of custom homes in the North Brunswick area. A veteran of the U.S. Navy who served in World War II, he was a member of the American Legion Leigh A. Pardun Post #459 in North Brunswick.
He was predeceased by his wife, Antoinette Caruso Farella, who died in 2000; and his brother, Angelo Farella, who died in 1990. He will be dearly missed by two daughters, Joanne Testa (Paul Braconi) of North Brunswick and Angela Sturm (Barry) of Freehold; two sons, Ralph Farella Jr. (Juli Anne) of North Brunswick and Michael Farella (Dan Keegan) of Old Bridge; three sisters, Mary Santoro, Rose Caruso and Louise Farella, all of North Brunswick; and two brothers, Joseph Farella of Seabrook, Texas and Michael J. Farella (Sandi) of Brick. He was most proud of his beloved grandchildren, Michael Testa (Lauren), Kristyn Testa, Joseph Testa (Mikah), Nichole Mastrianni (Matt), Daniel Farella, Cara Farella and Kylie Sturm; his great-granddaughter, Giada Testa; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Friends and relatives may call from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 29 at Selover Funeral Home, 555 Georges Road, North Brunswick. Funeral services will be 9:15 a.m. Monday, Sept. 30 from the funeral home, followed by a 10 a.m. Mass at Our Lady of Peace R.C. Church, North Brunswick. Burial will follow in St. Peter's Cemetery, New Brunswick.
