Ralph Lindsey


Mr. Ralph Lindsey was born on October 23rd, 1932 in Greenwood, SC to the late Pearl and Leo Lindsey Sr. He attended various churches in the Somerset area. He grew up and was raised in the promised land community, where he was educated and graduated from Brewer High School and continued his education and graduated from Benedict College Columbia, SC as a biology major. He served in the U.S. Army and after his discharge relocated to Newark, NJ where he became a teacher in the Elizabeth, NJ school system until his retirement, after which he relocated to Somerset, NJ.

He leaves to cherish his memories a daughter Cathy Lindsey of Columbia, SC (Daughter Yvette Preceded him to the grave); four sisters, Susie Moore of Pleasantville, NJ, Alice Carter of Bradley, SC, Lila Jackson of Newark, NJ, and Lilla Daniel of Union, NJ. Mary Holmes, Leo Lindsey Jr. and Willie Mae Lindsey preceded him to the grave. A host of nieces, nephews and cousins.

Memorial service for Mr. Lindsey will begin at 10:30 a.m. at the Gleason Funeral Home, 1360 Hamilton St. Somerset, NJ 08873 on Tuesday December 11th 2012. Burial will follow at the Brigadier General William C. Doyle Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Wrightstown, NJ.
