Sister Regina Martin, 74, a Sister of Charity of Saint Elizabeth, died December 25, 2013 at Mother Seton Convent, Clark, NJ. The wake for Sister Regina Martin will be held on Friday, December 27, 2013 in the Rotunda of Mother Seton High School, Valley Road, Clark, NJ from 2:00 to 7:00 p.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will be on Saturday, December 28, 2013 at St. Helen Church, 1600 Rahway Ave., Westfield, NJ. Burial will follow at Holy Family Cemetery, Convent Station. Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Codey Funeral Home, Boonton, NJ.
Sister Regina Martin was born in County Roscommon, Ireland, the daughter of Martin and Mary (Morahan) Keane. She entered the Sisters of Charity on August 20, 1957 and was a member for 56 years. Sister Regina Martin graduated from the College of Saint Elizabeth, Convent Station, New Jersey with a B.A. degree in Mathematics, from the University of Notre Dame, South Bend, Indiana with a M.S. degree in Mathematics and from Rutgers University, New Brunswick, with a M.A. degree in Administration. Sister Regina Martin was an Educator in the State of New Jersey. She served as a teacher at St. Paul School, Clifton and at Mother Seton High School, Clark. In 1975, she became Principal and remained there until her death.
She is survived by the Sisters of Charity; her sister, Mary Keane; a nephew, Michael Keane and a niece, Brenda Lavan. She was predeceased by a brother, Michael Keane.
