Richard G. Kaschak, Jr. of West Cape May, died suddenly at home on Tuesday, December 17, 2013. A native of Manville, NJ, he later lived in Bound Brook, NJ, before moving to West Cape May in 2003. A graduate of Manville High School, Rick served in the US Navy, attended Arizona State University, and worked as a mechanic for 3M Corporation until his retirement. Upon moving to West Cape May, he became co-owner and operator of "Steaks Up" in Cape May. Quite the handyman, a skill he developed working with his father, Rick enjoyed working on home improvement projects and completing the renovation of his Cape May home. Always a lover of animals, Rick also loved to travel and had a passion for tennis. He cherished moments spent with his family and was especially blessed to have the company of Shannon Oliver and so many close and dear friends in the Cape May area. The eldest of eleven children, Richard was predeceased by his mother, Marianne (Domanski) Kaschak.
He is survived by his loving father, Richard G. Kaschak, Sr. and his wife Susan; two dear brothers, Joseph Kaschak and George Kaschak and his wife Debi; and eight dear sisters, Karen Kaschak and her husband Jack Deignan, Elizabeth and her husband Duane Creedon, Candy and her husband Brian Blake, Gina Myers, Ellen and her husband Chip Chachowski, Mini and her husband Bill Kidd, Marjorie Miller, and Sandy Kelchner. He also leaves behind nineteen cherished nieces and nephews, Jessica Raczkowski; Kristin, Kimberly, and Katie Kaschak; Christopher Condelli; Shea and Casey Blake; Marianne, Lisa, and Jena Myers; Bryan, Charlee Ann, and Richard Chachowski; Harlee Kidd; Marcella Miller; Daniel, Julia, and Sophia Kaschak; and Cameron Kelchner.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend a visitation at Fucillo & Warren Funeral Home, 205 South Main Street, Manville, NJ 08835 on Friday, December 20 from 5-8 p.m. and on Saturday, December 21 from 8-8:30 a.m. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, December 21 beginning 8:30 a.m. at the funeral home followed by a 9:00 a.m. funeral liturgy at Sacred Heart Roman Catholic Church in Manville.
