Steven Conrad Schaedel

Steven Conrad Schaedel's soul left this earthly plane Thursday, Sept. 12, 2013 in Phoenix, AZ. He was born in Plainfield, NJ in 1942. He completed North Plainfield High School and joined the U.S. Navy. He enjoyed four years aboard the USS Forrestal, CVA-59 during the Viet Nam Era. After discharge from the Navy, Steve began a long and distinguished career as a machinist in the container industry. Steve was a multifaceted man. He was often described as a curmudgeon wrapped around a teddy bear. He was a staunch defender of the U.S. Constitution, especially the 2nd amendment. He was a great history buff and was happy to enlighten anyone on the Civil War or WW2 whom he thought did not have correct facts. He was a devoted gun enthusiast who enjoyed target shooting, cowboy shoots and gun repair. He loved powerful autos and classic cars. A '42 Ford brought much joy into his life. Steve cared intensely for those in his life. He rescued many animals and people in his lifetime. Most were grateful for his help.

Steven is survived by his great love, Patty Wynn Bourasa; children, Kim Maneiro and Steven D. Schaedel; sister, Kathy Schaedel; half sister, Joanna Canary; step siblings, Elyse Feller, Peter Luca, Hans Luca and William Luca.
