Hershel S. Irwin AMARILLO - Memorial Services for Hershel S. Irwin, 79, will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday at Southwest Church of Christ in Amarillo. The guest book may be signed at Holley Funeral Home until 5 p.m. Friday. Mr. Irwin died Feb. 24, 2013, in Amarillo. Arrangements and cremation are by Holley Funeral Home, Inc., 205 N. 11th St., Canyon, Texas. Hershel S. Irwin was born May 18, 1933, in Floyd County to Felix Clyde Irwin and Lottie Faye Maxey Irwin. He enlisted and served in the Air Force Reserve 2013th AACS Squadron MATS where he earned the Korean Service Medal, United Nations Service Medal, National Defense Service Medal and Good Conduct Medal. He worked as maintenance manager at the Amarillo Federal Building. He is survived by his wife, Jane Irwin; two sons, Ruey Irwin of Canyon and Roger Irwin of Farmers Branch; two daughters, Norma Wilkie of Amarillo and Karen Thompson of Canyon; nine grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; three brothers, Loflin, Sherman and Herbert Irwin, all of Lubbock; and a sister, Luella Slack of Canyon.
