Charles "Chuck" Rowland Straight

Charles "Chuck" Rowland Straight, Jr., 63 of Murrells Inlet passed away on Monday, June 23, 2014 at Tidelands Community Hospice. Chuck was born September 24, 1950 in Niskayuna, NY, a son of the late Charles Rowland Straight, Sr. and Kathryn Wicks Straight. He was a member of Scotia-Glenville Elks Lodge #2759, Surfside Moose Lodge #2351, and the Murrells Inlet American Legion Post #178. He was a US Navy Veteran and was the Water Plant Operator for the town of Glenville, NY for 37 years where he retired in 2005.
He is survived by his wife, Barbara Smeallie Straight; two sons, James Ferris of Schenectady, NY and Scot Straight and wife Michelle of Altamont, NY; daughter, Patti Ferris and fiancé Daniel Kiskis of Glenville, NY. He is also survived by fourteen grandchildren and eight great grandchildren.
A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 2:00 PM Sunday, June 29, 2014 at Inlet Oaks Village Club House, 180 Burr Circle, Murrells Inlet. Officiating will be Ronald Ely.
