William E "Bill" Hurston

William E "Bill" Hurston, 84, of Myrtle Beach, died Monday March 17, 2014 at Brightwater Senior Living. Bill was born February 2, 1930 in Tallassee, Alabama, a son of the late Reedy L. and Alice Duett Hurston and was predeceased by three brothers and three sisters. Bill retired as a Senior Master Sargent, January 1, 1976 from the US Air Force as an air traffic controller after 26 years of service, having served during the Korean Conflict and the Vietnam War.
Surviving is his wife, Annette DeCilles Hurston; three sons, Billy Hurston and wife Jennifer of Surfside Beach, Scott Hurston and wife Lori of Pawleys Island, and John Hurston of Murrells Inlet and a daughter Susan Todd of Socastee. He is also survived by five grandchildren, Brooks Hurston, Jackson Hurston, Blake Hurston, Loryn Hurston, and Ryan Todd and great grandson, Konner Todd.
A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 6:00 PM Thursday March 20, 2014 with full Military Honors in the Chapel of Burroughs Funeral Home. Officiating will be Rev. Ronny Byrd.
The family will receive friends following the service until 8:00 PM.
