WINCHESTER, Va. - Anne Christine "Nina" Heidelberger, 76, of Winchester, Va., died Tuesday, May 6, 2014, at her home. Nina was born Sept. 18, 1937, in The Bronx, N.Y., the daughter of the late Walter Grevesmuhl and Ester Helleren Grevesmuhl. She was a fifth-grade elementary school teacher at Fredon Elementary School in Fredon Township. Nina was a member of Our Savior Lutheran Church, Lutheran Women's Mission League, and was a docent at the Museum of the Shenandoah Valley, a member of the Clarke County Garden Club, the PrimeTimers, and the Christian Women's Book Club. She married William Heidelberger on June 14, 1959, in Bronx, N.Y. Surviving with her husband, Bill, are three daughters, Tina Hodges and Jennifer Johnson, both of Hart, Mich., and Judy Vance, of Centerville, Ohio; a son, Todd Heidelberger, of Boyce, Va.; two sisters, Sonja Lehrer, of Santa Rosa, Calif., and Cindi Rivara, of Stillwater; a brother, Walter Grevesmuhl, of Tiburon, Calif.; and nine grandchildren. A graveside service will be held 10 a.m. Friday, May 9, followed by an 11 a.m. memorial service at Our Savior Lutheran Church in Winchester, Va., with Pastor Greg Cubee officiating. Pallbearers will be Max Heidelberger, Bennett Heidelberger, Harrison Hodges, William Vance, Sam Vance and Dugan Schmid. Memorial contributions may be made to The Mercy Scholarship, c/o St. Peter Church, 6540 Central Ave., Portage, IN 46368.
