WHARTON - Audrey Dressel (Sidor), 72, passed away peacefully at St. Clare's Hospital/Denville on Tuesday, Nov. 12, 2013. Audrey was born in Passaic and raised in Hasbrouck Heights, moving to Wharton in 1973. Mrs. Dressel worked as a Spanish and English teacher at Clifton High School for several years before she moved to Wharton. She was a longtime employee of the Borough of Stanhope, retiring in 2003 as the Municipal Clerk. Audrey touched many lives and donated generously to many charities, especially breast cancer. Mrs. Dressel was pre-deceased by her husband, James, in 2002, and her daughters, Jennifer in 1993 and Melissa in 2010. She is survived by her niece, Barbara Morrow, and grand-nephew, Sean Michael Morrow, both of Hasbrouck Heights; niece, Reneé Klein, of Hackensack; and sister, Marilyn Murray (Sidor) and her husband, David, of Brick. She also is survived by many family members and friends, especially Carol, Doris, Lorraine, Antoinette, Margaret and Lynda. Services were private. A celebration of her life will be held for family and friends from 2 to 5 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 1, at the Wharton American Legion Post 91, 99 North Main St., Wharton. In lieu of flowers, donations in Audrey's memory to Marist College, Jennifer Dressel Memorial Scholarship Fund, Office of College Advancement, Poughkeepsie, N.Y. 12601-1387 would be appreciated.
