FRELINGHUYSEN - Frank P. Smolha, 83, of Frelinghuysen Township, passed away at his home on March 14, 2014. Born June 25, 1930, in New York City, N.Y., Frank was the son of the late Frank and Evan (Balko) Smolha. He received his Bachelor of Science degree from New York University and served as a paratrooper in the U.S. Army from 1951-1953. He retired from teaching in 1995 after 33 years in the Harmony school system. Frank is survived by his sister, Jean Smolha, of Frelinghuysen; two brothers, Robert Smolha and wife, Marilyn, of Grande Junction, Colo., and Joseph Smolha and wife, Barbara, of Frelinghuysen; as well as six nieces and nephews; and nine great-nieces and nephews. A service of remembrance will be held at noon Saturday, April 12, at Newbaker Funeral Home, 200 Route 94, Blairstown. A memorial visitation will be held from 11 a.m. to noon Saturday, April 12.
