Herbert E. Chalk., 90, of Melbourne, passed away May 21, 2013 at St. Elizabeth Medical Center in Edgewood. He was a retired Farmer. A member of St. John's Lutheran Church in Melbourne where he was active in the Church Council, a member of the Campbell County Seniors, St. Philips Seniors, a board member of the Farmers Produce Market on Wilmer Ave. in Cincinnati. He returned in April from the years first Tristate Honor Flight, was a member of the Alexandria VFW Post #3205 and a World War II Army veteran. Herbert was born September 6, 1922 in Melbourne, KY to the late Herbert J. and Edith Loos Chalk. Herbert is survived by his wife, Florence Gunkel Chalk, daughters, Rose (Dietrich) Chalk and Audrey (Frank) Dietrich of Melbourne, KY, Marlene (Wayne) Fromm of Cincinnati, OH and Linda Hardy of Alexandria, KY, his brother, Milton (Nancy) Chalk of Cold Spring, KY, also surviving are 9 grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren.Visitation 4 until 7 PM Monday May 27, 2013 at Dobbling Funeral Home, 106 S. Ft. Thomas Ave., Ft Thomas, KY 41075. Funeral Service will be 10 AM Tuesday at St. Johns Lutheran Church, Melbourne, KY. Burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery in Southgate.
