James Michael "Mike", February 12, 2013, Clearwater, FL. James Michael "Mike" Hesler (63) of Clearwater, FLA, Morehead, KY and formerly of Falmouth, KY passed away Tuesday, February 12, 2013 at his home. Mike was born in Covington, KY on November 7, 1949. He was the son of the late Matt and Dorothy (Delaney) Hesler. Mike served honorably in the United States Army from 1969-1971 receiving a purple heart for wounds incurred while serving in Vietnam. He was a 1967 graduate of the Falmouth City School, following that he attended classes at Eastern Kentucky and Morehead State Universities. After years in the construction business Mike retired from the maintenance department (painter) at Morehead State University. Mike enjoyed spending time with family and friends hunting, fishing, and playing golf. Survivors include his wife of 25 years Pamela Sue (Lafferty) Hesler- Clearwater, Fla., Devoted Step-Father to Sheila (Mike) Wright- Falmouth, KY, John Thomas Chafin II- Toronto, Ontario. Siblings- Carolyn Jean Hesler- Falmouth, KY, William Franklin "Billy" (Margret) Hesler- Falmouth, KY. Brother-In-Laws- Woodrow (Faye) Lafferty- Ellijay, GA, Robert Leslie Lafferty- Mancelona, MI, James Roger Lafferty- Wellington, KY, and Ralph Fletcher "Dusty" Lafferty and friend Nancy- Fife Lake, MI. Step- Grandchildren- Adam, Austin, and Michaela Wright- Falmouth, KY. Pallbearers: Mike, Adam, and Austin Wright, Brian Pugh, Jamie and Chris Hesler, Ben, Bobby Scott, and Bobby Lafferty. Honorary Pallbearers: Woodrow, Robert, James, Ralph "Dusty" Lafferty, Donnie Wolf, Tony Messmer, and Kenny LaFollette. Visitation will be held on Friday, February 15, 2013 from 4-8 pm. at the Peoples Funeral Home in Falmouth, KY. Funeral services will then be held on Saturday at 2 p.m. also at the funeral home. Final resting place will be at the Riverside Cemetery under full military honors by the American Legion Post 109 of Falmouth, KY.
