MULLINS

Oliver Monroe, 81, born in Orlando, KY, near Mt. Vernon. He then resided in Covington and Latonia, passed away at his home in Crestview Hills on Saturday, January 4, 2013. He was a soft spoken, loving, giving man, and son of the late Ernest Lee and Ruth (Laswell) Mullins. Survived by his wife of 61 short years Barbara Ann (Kennedy) Muliins; son Greg and Lois (Wiggins) Mullins of Covington; grandchildren; Jason Mullins and Melissa (Hodke) Mullins of Hebron, Amber (Mullins) Campbell of Chunchula (by Mobile) AL, and Cari Mullins of Latonia; great grandchildren Jovie Nicole Campbell, Colton Monroe Campbell, and newborn Matthew Oliver Mullins. "Big brother" of James Walter Mullins and wife Nancy of Bend, OR, the late Hazel (Mullins) Linn and late husband C.C., the late Ballard Mullins and wife Joyce of Westchester, OH, Earl Dean Mullins of Northern Kentucky, the late William Lee Mullins, Linda (Mullins) Guenther and former spouse Gary of Erlanger. A hardworking geneologist with many aunts, cousins, nieces, nephews, and more who were important parts of his life, travels and family tree. Army veteran in Germany during the "Cold War" and Korean conflict. 1950 Holmes High graduate. Skilled machinist in Cincinnati area; from Magna America in the 50's to Molser/American Standard in the 70's, as firms moved away and he kept his family stable. Rounded out his career in the 90's instructing students at University of Cincinnati's Ohio College of Applied Science with what he had learned and continued to learn about even computer driven machine tools, welding and more. He always budgeted for and loved to travel with family, to speak with new people and learn new things, and he golfed when possible. He did some practice putts the last day he could stand. Visitation 4-7 PM Tuesday, January 7, with funeral service 1 PM Wednesday, January 8, 2013 all at SWINDLER & CURRIN FUNERAL HOME, LATONIA. Interment: Highland Cemetery, Ft. Mitchell.
