Orville Jones Jr. "Babe", age 82, passed away July 5, 2013.
He was born March 13, 1931 in Harrison Co. Ky.
Mr. Jones proudly served his country during the Korean War in the Navy from 1948 until 1952. He also served in the Sea Bee Reserves from 1955 until 1967 when he transferred to the Air Force Reserves until 1969.
Affiliations include a life membership to the Ralph Fulton VFW Post 6423 and American Legion Post 20, serving them since 1952. He was also a member of the Elsmere Church of Christ and a Kentucky Colonel.
Orville was a retired truck driver.
He was preceded in death by his parents Orville and Kathleen and a brother, Homer Frank ("Shorty") who lost his life in the service of his country and his granddaughter Traci Monday.
He is survived by a sister, Martha Ryle, brother, Donnie G. Jones, former wife, Norma (Mickey), daughter, Dr. Kathy Jones, son, Chuck (Wendy). He also leaves three grandsons, Jon, Chris (Heather) and Jeff, three great grandsons, Ethan, Damien and Colton.
There will be no visitation. However there will be a graveside service and dedication of headstone with Honor Guard on August 31st, 2013. The time will be determined at a later date.
