Richard F. Gibeau, passed away on July 22, 2013. After serving in WWII as First Lieutenant in the 20th Combat Mapping Squadron - Pacific Theater, Richard graduated from Northwestern University. A Chicago native, he came to Kentucky in 1962 to work as the Development Director at Villa Madonna College. After leading the transition to Thomas More College, he left in 1973 to return to journalism as reporter and editor for the Cincinnati Post. He served as Kenton County Public Library Trustee and president of the Board of Trustees after his retirement, and was instrumental in the building of the Erlanger and Independence Branches. He was active in the Northern Kentucky Arts Council and helped save the Carnegie Library building for the NKAC office. Richard was preceded in death by his wife of 62 years, Arlene Snyder Gibeau. Richard is survived by five children: Toddy Ballard, Ricke, Blair, Rena and Julie Gibeau. He has three grandchildren; Virginia, Erich, Quentin and four great-grandchildren. Mass of Christian Burial will be Friday, July 26, 1:00 p.m. at the Cathedral Basilica of the Assumption Church. Visitation will be Thursday from 4-8 p.m. at MIDDENDORF-BULLOCK FUNERAL HOME, COVINGTON. Interment at Highland Cemetery.
