Nancy Lou Wade Obituary
Nancy Lou Wade Born: April 13, 1934; In Mount Pleasant, MI Died: March 1, 2014; In Crystal Lake, IL Nancy Lou Wade, age 79, of Crystal Lake, died Saturday, March 1, 2014 at home. She was born on April 13, 1934 to Chlore and Dimple Sells in Mount Pleasant, Michigan. She graduated Muskegon Michigan High School, first in her class, in 1952 and completed her B.A. at the University of Michigan in 1956. She served in the U.S. Department of State 's Foreign Service as Vice Consul. She briefly served as president of the McHenry County Red Cross, taught Sunday school at St. Ann 's Episcopal Church in Woodstock, IL, and ventured briefly into local politics, running for McHenry County Clerk, before health concerns forced her to withdraw. She was an avid gardener who loved animals, reading, and her family. She will be missed greatly. Nancy is survived by her loving husband of 56 years, Edwin Wade; sons, Jim (Katherine) Wade and Jeffrey (Marcella) Wade; grandchildren, Bronwen and Gethin Wade; and three nieces, four nephews and many cousins. She was preceded in death by her sisters, Virgil Pintal and Jean Glasier; brothers, Howard Sells and Lee Sells; and her parents. Visitation will be from 5:00-8:00p.m., Saturday, March 8, 2014 at Davenport Family Funeral Home, 419 E. Terra Cotta Ave. (Rt. 176), Crystal Lake, IL 60014. Funeral service will be held at 1;00p.m., Sunday, March 9, 2014, at Prince of Peace Lutheran Church, 932 McHenry Ave., Crystal Lake, where there will be a second visitation held one hour prior to funeral service at church. Burial will be held privately at Windridge Cemetery, Cary. Memorials may be made to the Multiple Myeloma Foundation, www.the mmrf.org or Prince of Peace Lutheran Church, www.prince-of-peace.org.
