Ralph B. Jacobson, Sr., age 87, of Richmond, passed away Tuesday, July 1, 2014 at Centegra McHenry Hospital, McHenry, IL.
Ralph was born in Rutland, North Dakota on July 28, 1926, a son of the late Ole and Mathea (Johnson) Jacobson. He was married to Bernadette Mitchell on June 2, 1951 in Chicago.
He worked as a carpenter at Asbach-Vaneselow and was a member of Carpenters Local #1 of Chicago. He served in the U.S. Army in WW II with the 56th Air Engineers. He was an avid White Sox fan.
Ralph is survived by his wife, Bernadette; six daughters, Victoria McGovern of Wauconda, Evonne (Robert) Schowalter of Shawano, WI, Karen (Bob) Hahn of Spring Grove, IL, Marilyn (Michael) Floress of McHenry, Mathea Jacobson of Lakemoor Joan Jacobson of Johnsburg, a son, RB Jacobson of Janesville, WI; 10 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded by three sisters and six brothers.
Memorials may be made in his name to Madison Street Veterans Association (MSVA) / Veterans Outreach Center, 233 S 11th Ave., Phoenix, AZ 85007.
