ADELE LAURA BRAY VALPARAISO, IN Adele Laura Bray, age 80, of Valparaiso passed away Friday, September 20, 2013. She was born May 24, 1933 in Chicago, IL to Howard and Laura (Lundgren) Hendricksen. Adele graduated from Bensenville High School and received her nursing degree from Purdue University. She served many years as an R.N. with Porter Memorial Hospital, the VNA of Porter County, and Infant & Child Care. Adele was a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church and their choir and Altar Guild, the V.U. Guild and volunteered at the Hilltop House Nursery. She traveled extensively with her family throughout the world and was a gifted musician. On November 8, 1952, Adele married Merlin Bray who survives along with their children: David (Beth) Bray of Madison, WI, Laurie (Jeff) Gustke of Valparaiso, Julie Bray of Valparaiso, Becky (Mark) Hansell of Valparaiso, Peter (Julie) Bray of Columbia City, and Andrew Bray of Valparaiso; sister-in-law, Dorothy Hendricksen; grandchildren: Tony, Jeremy, Suzanne, Meredith, Cory, Breanne, Shawn, Kaitlin, Marisa, Hannah, Sam, Micah, Laura, Jacob, Josiah, Justice, Zane, Cole, and Trace; and seven great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; and brother, Donald Hendricksen. A funeral service will be held Tuesday, September 24, 2013 at 1:00 p.m. at Immanuel Lutheran Church, 1700 N. Monticello Park Dr., Valparaiso with Rev. Donald Williams and Rev. Steve Bongard officiating. Burial at Angelcrest Cemetery. Visitation Monday from 3:00-7:00 p.m. directly at the church.
