ANDREW IVANYO, JR. CROWN POINT, IN

Andrew Ivanyo, Jr., age 79 of Crown Point, formerly of Merrillville, passed away Tuesday, February 11, 2014. He is survived by his wife, Dolores (nee Murga) of 56 years; four children: Diane (Tom) Martello, David (Dawn) Ivanyo, Donna (Paul) McCarthy, and Dan (Debbie) Ivanyo; six grandchildren: Philip and Matthew Martello, Laura and Michael Ivanyo, Trevor and Rachel Ivanyo; and brother, Joseph (Mary) Ivanyo. Preceded in death by parents: Andrew and Mary Ivanyo, Sr. Mr. Ivanyo was a member of St. Michael Byzantine Catholic Church, St. Nicholas Apostalet, and worked the Friday Fish Fry. He was a graduate of Froebel High School, Class of 1952, a U.S. Army veteran, and a retired supervisor from the Bop Shop, Gary Works, U.S. Steel with 42 years of service. Andrew enjoyed traveling the country and doing crossword puzzles. Family and friends may call at Pruzin Brothers Funeral Service (6360 Broadway, Merrillville) on Friday from 2:00 to 8:00 PM with a Rosary at 2:30 PM and a Prayer Service at 3:00 PM. Funeral services will be held Saturday, February 15, 2014 at 9:30 AM from Pruzin Brothers Chapel and 10:00 AM from St. Michael Byzantine Catholic Church (557 W. 57th Ave., Merrillville) with Rev. Basil Hutsko officiating. At rest Calumet Park Cemetery. Memorials are preferred to St. Anthony Hospice in Crown Point.
