BETTY LUNDAHL (LINDY) Betty (Lindy) Lundahl passed away January 21, 2013. She is survived by three nieces: Barbara of New Jersey, Susan (Vernon) Mummert of Indiana, Janet (Frederick) Madison of New Jersey; great nieces and great nephews; and many good friends. Preceded in death by her parents; brother, Richard; sister and brothers-in-law; and many aunts and uncles. Funeral services will be held Friday, January 25, 2013 at 10:00 a.m. at Woodmar United Methodist Church with Pastor Alex Stone officiating. Cremation to follow. Friends may visit with the family on Thursday from 3:00 to 5:00 p.m. at Kuiper Funeral Home, 9039 Kleinman Rd. (two blocks south of Ridge Rd.) Highland, IN. Betty received a BA degree at Augustana College in Rock Island, IL, she did graduate work at the University of Minnesota, Betty received a master's degree from Loyola University in Chicago, also did 30 additional graduate hours at Purdue Calumet in guidance and counseling; Miss Lundahl taught at the high school level for 40 years, two years in Geneseo, IL, 38 years in Hammond, IN. She served on several NCAA Visiting & Steering Committees and is listed in the 1978-79 Who's Who in the Midwest. Betty was an active member of the Woodmar United Methodist Church. She often served as Liturgist, was a member of the Woodmar Community School Board, and also served on the Finance Committee and the Administration Board of the Woodmar Church. Betty was a charter member of Beta Delta Chapter of the Honorary Teacher Society, Delta Kappa Gamma. She was a member of the PEO, and delivered meals-on-wheels for many years. Memorials may be given to Hospice, Visiting Nurses, or Woodmar United Methodist Church in her name.
