Byron Keith Warren, age 91, lovingly known as "Bob", "Red", and "BK", of Houston, TX, formerly of Gary, IN passed away peacefully Tuesday, June 10, 2014 at his home in Houston surrounded by his family. Bob was born May 3, 1923 in Yale, IL, the son of Thomas and Betty (Cummins) Warren, graduated from Hunt High School and Purdue University's Electrical Engineer Program. Bob had worked over 30 years as an electrical engineer, electrician and welder for Graver Tank in East Chicago, transferring to Houston in 1981, where he also worked as a Quality Assurance Engineer for Offenhauser for 10 years before retiring in 1993. Bob proudly served his country with the US Navy in WWII and Korea. He was a member of the International Brotherhood of Boiler Makers, enjoyed fishing, golfing, and hunting. Bob also managed Junedale's senior girls' softball league and served as vice president of the Girls Softball League Association for many years in Gary. On September 1, 1951 in Yuma, AZ, Bob married Blance Nadine Gordon and they were blessed with 62 years of marriage. Nadine survives along with their children: Pamela Warren of Houston, TX and Patricia Lynn Warren Woldtvedt (Gust) of League City, TX; seven grandchildren; and three great- grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents. Visitation will be held Monday, June 16, 2014 from 1:00-3:00 PM at Moeller Funeral Home, 104 Roosevelt Road, Valparaiso with services beginning at 3:00 PM. Burial to follow at Mosier Cemetery, Valparaiso.
