Cheryl Kay (Campbell) Harshman, age 61, passed away unexpectedly in an auto accident on Thursday, August 21, 2014. She lived in Frankfort for 37 years until recently moving to Fishers, IN. She was born on January 14, 1953 in Hammond, IN. Cheryl graduated from Ball State University with a B.S. in Special Education. She continued on to obtain her Master of Arts. She dedicated her life to special needs children in many capacities; as a teacher, an administrator and most recently as Director of KASEC, located in Howard County. Many lives were touched by her caring devotion. She loved to sing and dance, travel and spend time with her family. Cheryl was a member of Lutheran Church of Our Redeemer, Kokomo, IN. She is survived by her children: Todd (Tanya) Harshman, Troy (Mary) Harshman, Tammie Harshman Foster, Trent (Gena) Harshman, and Tonya (Perry) Harshman Evans; brothers: Bob (Sandra) Campbell and Bill (Denise) Campbell; grandchildren: Lindzi (Kyle), Amanda, Adam, Megan, Riley, Jacob, Jordan, Josh, Maeci (Robby), Madison, Mckenzie and McCoy; great-grandchildren: Talon, Karter and Evelynn; sister-in-law: Joan (Harold) Harshman Nelson; beloved Aunt, May Dash; Uncle Jerry Ogden; nieces and nephews: Anne, Michelle, Christopher, and David; cousins: Kelly, Mark, Mike, Cindy, Tom, Mike, Mark, and Amy; and many more loving uncles, aunts, cousins, nieces and nephews. Cheryl was preceded in death by her loving husband Richard Harshman; loving parents Al and Verdonna Campbell; Grandparents Thurman and Mae Campbell and Sylvia Tiller; Aunt Billie Ogden. Funeral services celebrating Cheryl's life will be held at 6:00 p.m. Thursday, August 28, 2014 at Shirley & Stout Funeral Home & Crematory, 1315 W. Lincoln Road, Kokomo, IN, with Pastor William Allison officiating. Private burial will be made in Arlington National Cemetery. Friends are invited to visit with the family from 2:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home. Donations can be made to help fight Breast Cancer through Loyola University.
